In short, your quarterback is quite often your most valuable player. Your offensive line has the important job of protecting him – especially his ‘blindside’ during a pass play. It doesn’t matter how agile your QB is, if his back is to an oncoming defender while his concentration is downfield looking for an open receiver – he’s about to be blindsided!
The only way to protect yourself from being blindsided is ensuring you have great players and a great team behind you sharing the same goal. The team’s goal is protecting the quarterback so they have the best chance of winning.
